Winners of the 500 likers

How exciting, I have always dreamed of using my creativity in some way & have always loved to bake cakes & cupcakes.
Now I have my very own Australian Registered, Council approved, Health food & Safety Certificate Home based business all set up and it is proving to be very rewarding.
(My Husband placing my sign up YAY  I opened in July 3rd 2013)

I am always getting told how spectacular my cakes are, which in itself can be over whelming but very rewarding. It is funny when people expect my cakes to just be WOW on the outside and then when they try them they are astonished at how wonderfully divine they taste on the inside.... And actually tell me that. It makes me wonder who's cakes have they been trying and what and how are those other bakes been baking, and I am very thankful I know how to cook and bake my cakes so they are very moist an tasty.

Along this journey I like to think of it, I am always blessed and very thankful for my bookings that come my way and like to be able to really wow my clients in every way I can as it's my work, my talent, my creations & my thinking on display. I love when I arrive and the looks on the faces, the ooo's and arrr's, the smiles, the little ones who try and grab the figurine who they desperately have come to know so well and just want to play with it... This is my feel good moment were the very long hours a cake can take at times, the sore back & neck, brain strains, husband going to bed with out me make up for those moments... All though hubby does and is amazing he will run and grab me a tool if needed and is becoming familiar with them now.. And tries to stay up late with me so we can head to bed together which is so wonderfully amazing of him!!!

With the journey I have lost a few supports but gained many more, and they have become very engaging in my facebook page which I love! I love to speak to you all and ask you random things and not always make it about me or my cakes...
I thought when I would open my page I would make it so I WAS different and stay different! I want to stand out from the others cakers and always be ME!! I wanted to ALWAYS remember my supporters and give back to you for always engaging with me and taking the time out of your busy lives to come on over to my facebook page... And buy doing so I started my give aways... My first ever give away were some YUMMY cakes to some locals... But then I new I HAD to do a give away to my OVERSEAS supporters too!!

When I hit 500 likers recently that time came about!! And my lucky World wide winner was Clair Barens from England and my Local Winner was Lena lax from North Lakes...  I will always have random give aways when you all least expect it!!! And spread apart :0) This is just my way of saying thank you for your long time support for stopping by and saying HI or talking to me...
@Cabooture needs a great pricing divine tasting amazing cakes and that is where I come into play...

Naomi's Shaken & Baken Meets Bondi Boys Maxi & Jesse at Headspace Maroochydore

I had the most amazing opportunity present it self to me twice funny enough, with 2 ladies bringing it to my attention. So when it had been brought to my attention for that 2nd time, I just new then there was a reason for me knowing about this and jumped right on to emailing and letting them know I was very keen to be involved.

A lady named Denise Clark had contacted me not to long after and was in need of a surprise cake for a guest they were having at there opening of @Headspace in Maroochydore. The cake was for low and be hold Maxi from @Boni Rescue! I was ever so excited BUT this was not the ONLY reason I jumped at this.

So now this is where this story comes about. First I would like to tell you a little bit about Headspace in Maroochydore and what they are about...
Headspace are there to help with the young from aged 12 to 25... With mental health, physical health, education and employment, alcohol & drugs.
For me I got involved as I got bullied at lot through out my primary school days and high school days, I closed of from my parents as they were divorced, busy and with 7 of us all up well yeah. So to me this was a meaningful opportunity for me to be a small part off something so that will help and change many young lives...  Headspace are now trying to get into schools as well for this reason... Now as for the AMAZING Bondi Boys you say what are they to do with this opening... The boys are doing a Jetski ride from Sydney Bondi Beach all the way to Cairns Queensland. They are doing this for raising the profile of metal health charity "headspace" As they to have gone through and seen much disheartening things more then most of us would ever know or even see...
These two men will be self sufficient and even pitching up there own tent at the end of a long day of Jetski riding on the ocean... Here is there link to find out more about their story... Link:-http://therideeastcoast.wordpress.com/what-is-the-ride-east-coast/

I really admire them, as I really had no idea what life guards go through. All over the world. This long ride would certainly put wear and tear on there bodies as they ride over the ocean for long hours arms held straight out. Something these boys should be very proud they are doing.

So when I read their story I knew what kind of cake I had to make Maxi!!! It had to have meaning, bit of a laugh and be WOW!!!!
I wrote down a list palm trees, tent, jetski's, surfboards and beach theme..
And I began researching as I do with all my cakes. Once I found a few things and pictures I liked I designed my cake...

1 week before the event I made all the trees, jetski, tent, scuba diver, crab etc.. And in this time I had an amazing experience!! I had some one I admire ring me... I have admired this man for his figurines for a while... I am much a very quite admirer when I admire some one. An for him to ring I was very WOW and was talking but felt like I was not talking LOL.. I had the amazing talented John Cresswell contact me from Crezart... He gave me some amazing advice on my scuba diver man. He was motionless before, and with John's advice I brought him to life more!! And will remember this from now on with all my figurines. That advice that night was just WOW to be speaking with someone so spectacular and knowledgeable.

The day of the cake baking- Denise had picked out one of the yummiest flavours !! Raspberry and white chocolate!!! It was going to be a long but amazing day... We got up early my children and I delivered a cake to Noosa Heads came home and I began baking the 11x15 inch cake... Ooo the smells were DIVINE!!!
The cake cooled and I butter-creamed away with the white chocolate butter-cream.... Placed on the blue fondant water, crushed my biscuits and placed on the sand.. HAHAHA now that was funny sand was going everywhere.. I actually had to stop and vacuum rewash my hands and start again I made that much mess with the sand LOL... Then the fun part, watching my master piece being put together right before my eyes... It was a very blissful happy moment and one I was very proud of.. This is a very big moment for me I kept thinking and I thought I would be very nervous but I was not.
Everything was done apart from the words.. I sent Denise a sneak peek of the cake.. She was very impressed which made my night...I finished the wording at 10:20pm and headed for bed...

The next day was BONDI BOYS DAY!!!  I got the kids up and ready I was very organised as one dose!
Dropped the kids all off at a girlfriends place and I was on my way.. I got to headspace safe and sound and finely met Denise. Oh that was a great moment... Walk in with the cake and the amount of complements was just OVER whelming for me...
The 11am mark came and the boys had arrived... we all yelled SURPRISE, and went into happy birthday.. He had the most amazing big smile on his face!
He mentioned it was the best cake he has ever received which was very lovely of him and I even got a kiss on the cheek ^_^
Thank you Maxi and Jesse for the amazing photo
I got so many complements for the cake not only looking mind blowing on the outside but also tasting spectacular on the inside. As a few people placed it "usually cakes that look amazing on the outside taste shit on the inside LOL" So I am very please to say my cakes really do taste amazing...

Massive thank you to Headspace Maroochydore & to the Bondi boys and their teams for allowing me to be a small part of your day!! Was very meaningful for me and I felt very blessed and grateful in every way and will always remember that day... I love to laugh and I sure did have some amazing laughs that day.. Maxi you are one funny guy and Jesse it was great to hear some of the stories you were willing to share!!!
